12:02 PM 2022-12-06
The 2023 Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday will last from January 20 through January 26, 2023.

This holiday period applies to officials, public servants and employees, working at administrative, non-business agencies, political organisations and socio-political organisations, while private organisations and businesses generally follow the dates but could make changes to the days off for their employees, depending on their circumstances.

On December 1, the Government Office issued a document on the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, signed the decision based on the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

That means the Tết holiday, the longest and most important traditional festival in Việt Nam, will be from the 29th day of the 12th lunar month, of the Year of the Tiger, to the 5th day of the first lunar month, of the Year of the Cat.

The holiday will essentially last seven days if the preceding and succeeding Saturdays and Sundays are taken into account.

Meanwhile, the National Day holiday will be from September 1, 2023, to the end of September 4, 2023.

Other weekend and anniversary holidays will still take place as regulated in the Labour Code, according to the Government Office’s announcement.

The Government also suggested that the agencies and units implementing the above holiday schedule must arrange reasonable working departments to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and people./. NDO
