Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister Dao Hong Lan shared her thoughts that Quang Tri province had suffered a lot from harsh weather and war destructive. Therefore, number of children with difficulties in lives are very crowded. Currently, the province has over 36,000 families that children of poor households, more than 10,300 children in especially difficult circumstances. This year, marine environment incidents also made citizen lives become harder than before, which can make hundreds of children give up their study. In order to motivate and encourage them to put themselves up in study, NFVC continues to call for contribution of the entire society to give more attention to the children , to help them overcome difficulties to continue going to school.

In this occasion, NFVC gave 200 scholarships for children in difficult circumstances, ones who are contaminated with dioxin and children living on coastal area who nearly give up studying. Besides that, there were also other gifts from the sponsors with total value of 320 millions VND.

Also in the afternoon, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery, Route 9 Martyrs Cemetery and Quang Tri Citadel.
