Prime Minister meets typical revolution contributors

(LĐXH)- On July 24, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a meeting with 50 delegates who represented more than 9.2 million people with meritorious services nationwide, on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).
Also attending the event were Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Binh Minh, Le Minh Khai, Le Van Thanh; Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son; Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister and delegates were touched to listen to wounded and sick soldiers sharing their thoughts and feelings with the country, with Uncle Ho and the revolutions of the nation.
The revolution contributors highly valued the Party and State’s efforts to care for them, expressing their determination to continue aserving as good examples in the society.
On behalf of Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister sent to the elderly revolutionary comrades, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs his deepest gratitude and sharing.
He said that although the war ended for long time, there remained the pains caused by it. Millions of people left their youth, dreams and desires under the soil while millions of others left parts of their bodies in the battlefields.
He affirmed that taking care of the health as well as the living conditions of the revolution contributors is a special matter as well as an important and regular political task of the Party, State and the entire political system. Policies related to revolution contributors have been completed, while priority in resources has been given to the work.
“We are not only interested in July 27, but the policy towards people with meritorious services is always a matter of regular and consistent concern. The Government has effectively implemented the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the Party Secretariat on continuing to strengthen the leadership of the Party towards people with meritorious services and policy families” – he said.
He requested the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to continue to complete policies related to revolution contributors and social policy beneficiaries, and give solutions to remove difficulties in the work.
Relevant agencies should continue to mobilise resources for the search and repatriation of martyrs’ remains, while stepping up the application of science and technology to define their names.
The head of the Government stated that, our country has been through a difficult time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many examples of patriotism, overcoming difficulties and challenges are an inspiration to every citizen and the later generation to promote the achievements of previous generations, together to win the pandemic./.
