(LĐXH) On the working trip to middle provinces, on December 12th, Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Party Central Committee member, the Minister of Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) had a visit to Da Nang Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital, Center for Technical Safety Inspection Region III and some policy objects in the city.

Da Nang Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital is a medical unit of MOLISA, which was established in 1968. Dr. Do Van Thanh, Director of the Hospital, said: With the size of 200 beds, in last year, along with free foreign aid courses in the mountainous districts of Quang Tri, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai province, doctors of the hospital examined and treated 543 policy objects, performed free surgeries for more than 150 children with cleft lip and palate, provided  nearly 1,000 prostheses and 7,000 semi-finished products for disabled people. Health care  performance indicators of hospital increased 10% - 25% in 2016 compared to  the previous year; quality of caring activities and medical treatment was dramatically high. Especially, hospitals has developed and implemented several new medical services, typically spinal surgery, shoulder arthroscopy, nailed tight inner cord, orthopedic head - face - neck, plastic surgery; successfully treated many difficult  cases for policy beneficiaries and Vietnam heroic mothers ...

However, the hospital had to deal with difficulties such as: other local hospitals did not transfer patients to Da Nang Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital because this hospital was not under Department of Health, the equipment were not synchronized to pay health insurance for people, hospital’s fee has increased,......Speaking at the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung highly appreciated the results that the hospital has achieved recently. He also said that "The hospital needs to expand the social mobilization and coordination links with other hospitals in the area to serve better intensive medical care, promote socialization and move towards full autonomy in the near future. This is the right way to approach and support social welfare in taking care of policy objects and people with meritorious services. Therefore, the hospital needs to improve the quality of human resource and services, maintain last-long relationship with other hospitals and related departments for sustainable development.

In the framework of this visit, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung visited, encouraged and gave presents to Vietnam heroic mother Dang Thi Trong (was born in 1928) who lived in K5 / 10, Pham Phu Thu road, Hai Chau (Da Nang city), some policy objects and people with meritorious services who have been taken care and treated at the hospital.
In the afternoon, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and the delegation visited the Center for Technical Safety Inspection Region III (under MOLISA) in Da Nang city. After listening to the report of Director Do Phu Nhi about working status of the centre, then notifications of Occupational Safety Department, Planning and Finance Department about the mechanism of action, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung commanded: ‘’Currently, in market mechanism, safety inspection activities are facing huge challenges, which require positive and powerful changes to create fair competition in professional activities, to move toward full autonomy....’’ He also appreciated the efforts of staffs of the centre in completing assigned tasks.
