Minister Dao Ngoc Dung congratulated the German Ambassador for his successful term in Vietnam

(LDXH) - On the morning of July 17, Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung had a meeting with the German Ambassador in Vietnam Christian Berger to discuss some details and necessary contents.
Attending the meeting were leaders of the Ministry Office, Department of International Cooperation, General Department of Vocational Education, Department of Overseas Labor Management and Overseas Labor Centers.
Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung congratulated the Ambassador for having a successful term in Vietnam, appreciating the positive contribution of the Ambassador and his colleagues in promoting relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of employment, vocational training and labor cooperation. He also believed that after the end of his term in Vietnam, the Ambassador will continue to keep good feelings for Vietnam and continue to stick closely in the fields of society, sustainable work, reducing poverty, especially when the Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) has just been signed.

It is said that the relationship between Vietnam and Germany is a strategic partnership. In particular, the Federal Republic of Germany, especially the States, GIZ, Vivantex ... have cooperated with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in recent years, which is quite strict and effective, especially in cooperation on vocational training, bringing nurses to Germany to study, work and some other fields.
Recently, as the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs paid a working visit to the EU to promote the signing of a Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU. At the working session, EU concened about many strategic issues such as labor commitments in the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter; Vietnam will continue to fix and approve the Labor Code in October to concretize and internalize the commitments of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

In preparation for the visit and work in Germany, it is expected that by the end of September, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung wishes to achieve 3 basic objectives in the trip. Firstly, he wanted to discuss more about in-depth study on German vocational training to get rid of average income “trap” in Vietnam. The second goal is related to the meeting with Vivantes Co., Ltd. (the unit cooperating with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in selecting, training and bringing Vietnamese workers to Germany to study, work in nursing industry. Finally, the Minister wished to learn more about the experiences of the Federal Republic of Germany in the issue of legislation relating to the field of labor, especially when Vietnam and the EU signed a trade agreement.
At the meeting, Ambassador Christian Berger congratulated Vietnam on signing the EVFTA Agreement, the National Assembly approved the admission of the 98th Convention of the International Labor Organization ... At the same time, he thanked for the concern, closely cooperating with the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs as well as the minister in his term in Vietnam.

Mr. Christian Berger said: based on the contents given by the Minister, the German Embassy will design the working program for the Minister's visit in September to achieve the objectives. The Ambassador also acknowledged the Minister's interest in vocational training and nursing staff in Germany's Labor Migration Program.
“Recently, the Government and the National Assembly are developing a legal basis for labor migration into Germany. According to the judge, I believe that in the upcoming Labor Migration Strategy of federal government will have an impact on some countries, including Vietnam. Thus, with the experience of the two countries in training and bringing Vietnamese workers to Germany to study and work in nursing, this problem will be included in the general issues of labor migration ”- Germany Ambassador emphasized.
